Matthew T. Marin is the founding partner of Marin & Murphy Law Firm, representing clients in serious criminal matters across Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

Admitted to the bars of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and South Carolina, Attorney Marin focuses his practice on serious felony defense and constitutional advocacy. His federal court admission is in the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. Federal matters in the District of Connecticut are handled by partner, Stefanie A. Murphy, who is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and represents the firm's Connecticut federal criminal defense clients at all three D. Conn. courthouse locations.

Attorney Marin established Rhode Island Supreme Court precedent in State v. Corcoran (2022), which clarified Miranda doctrine for roadside interrogations, and originated the constitutional challenge in State v. Zimmerman (2015) that forced the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office to revise the statewide DUI rights form. Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly has published six editorial features on his cases across four consecutive years of coverage.

He has been selected to Super Lawyers for 11 consecutive years (Rising Star 2014–2018, Super Lawyers 2019–2024) and named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense. The firm has earned 444 five-star Google reviews.

Marin & Murphy represents clients across the full range of federal criminal matters in Connecticut, with particular focus on high-stakes white-collar defense including federal wire fraud, federal securities fraud in Connecticut's hedge fund corridor, federal healthcare fraud, federal tax fraud and evasion, and federal grand jury and pre-indictment representation for individuals who have received target letters from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut.
