Salvatore attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island and the University of Connecticut for undergrad while working a variety of jobs. Every summer during undergrad, Salvatore worked as an office clerk for a law firm in New London, Connecticut and, as a senior at the University of Connecticut, he was able to extern at the Geographical Area 10 Superior Court in New London, Connecticut. Before, during, after graduating from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School f/n/a Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Salvatore worked as an office clerk and later a law clerk for a law firm in Westerly, Rhode Island. In 2008, Salvatore started Ritacco Law (RL) and shortly afterwards officially registered the Law Office of Salvatore Ritacco, LLC, also doing business as RL. Although based in Pawcatuck, Connecticut since 2009, RL continues to work with small and large firms in East Hartford, Hartford, New Haven, Old Lyme and Old Saybrook. Because of Salvatore’s exposure to many areas of the law, he is able to provide legal counsel in a wide variety of legal matters as counsel/co-counsel and as corporate counsel. Salvatore provides consulting service with regard to government relations, public relations and strategic planning with the help of experts and attorneys. RL helps individuals and businesses achieve their respective goals.

Salvatore is an active member of a number of legal, business, and nonprofit organizations, is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut, in both State and Federal Courts and is a member of the following legal organizations: American Bar Association (ABA), the ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (RPTE), Litigation, Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), Estates & Probate, Litigation, Real Estate, Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (CCDLA), Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA), and the New London County Bar Association (NLCBA). Salvatore’s parents, Mario and Lucia, were born in the Calabria region of Southern Italy. After they married, they moved near family in Port Chester, New York and later settled in Pawcatuck, Connecticut. Salvatore was born at the Westerly Hospital, attended school in Stonington/Pawcatuck from elementary through high school.

Salvatore and his wife Lesley worked together for a number of years. Lesley is originally from Fall River, Massachusetts and fell in love with Stonington. They both love to cook, travel, and spend time with friends and family, and often volunteer their time supporting community events. They own a small farm which at one time was home to chickens and horses and now is filled with Christmas trees, hayfields and a large vegetable garden.
